Effective March 1, 2012, Google is going to get rid of 60 different privacy policies across Googles list of services and release just one shorter and easier to read policy to cover all services.
Over the last few months, Google has slowly started to create access to various different Google products and services through one user interface. Google’s homepage has a tool bar on top to access various services and everyone’s gmail account is nicely integrated with Google+, Google Docs, Google Photos, Youtube and the rest of their products and services.
Here is the updated Privacy Policy and Terms of ServiceĀ http://www.google.com/policies

I really like what Google is trying to do and for the most part, I find they are succeeding. Google wants to create a single product experience that allows the user to perform all their daily tasks seamlessly from one product to another. Customization is key for Google in providing a unique experience. Once you log in to Google, things like search query results will be tailored to you personally based on your activity on Google+, Gmail and Youtube. By tailoring your queries the belief is that the results will come quicker, more relative and accurate to what you are looking for.

Sharing is caring!
Social media has gone beyond just chit-chat it’s all about sharing information. With Google you can create a document online and easily share it without remembering a person’s contact information. Google remembers your contacts so it can fill in contact information for you so you could share your information quickly and with less clicks.
Google will continue to protect your privacy!
“Our goal is to provide you with as much transparency and choice as possible, through products like Google Dashboard and Ads Preferences Manager, alongside other tools. Our privacy principles remain unchanged. And we’ll never sell your personal information or share it without your permission (other than rare circumstances like valid legal requests).”
Transparency is so vital to the user especially after all the rumors involving Facebook.
I think Google is doing great things…. they will be taking over the world in no time! : )
Impressive post, the points you have made are thought provoking.
