I just found out yesterday that Apple is recalling all iPod Nano first generation. That’s right… recall!!! This product came out in 2006 and are now deciding that this product is not only defective but potentially hazardous!
The problem is the battery overheats and can possibly catch on FIRE!! Yikes!
Even thought combustion is rare the chances of if happen increase as the battery gets older. The new generation Nano’s do not have this problem.
So here is the Replacement Program from Apple
Apple requires you to verify your Nano’s serial number, send the Nano to Apple once the serial number is approved and you wait six weeks until you get a new generation Nano. Here is what they look like: http://www.apple.com/ipodnano/
Not a bad deal!
I so happen to have a black 1st Gen Nano that I really like because it was my very first iPod product. Should I keep it and risk it combusting on my arm? Or, should I go get a cool blue one?
